ISLAND SONGS WAS MADE FOR JEAN ROCHARD’S NATO LABEL IN 1996. THE MUSIC WAS A MIX OF EXOTIC BLUES AND FRENCH CAFE CHANSON SOUNDING HAWAIIAN WITH FREE JAZZ,ISLAND REGGAE AND TROPICAL DANCE BEATS ALL THROWN TOGETHER – THE MUSICIANS INVOLVED WERE AS ECLECTIC AS THE MUSIC – LOL COXHILL/SAXOPHONE, CYRIL LEFEBVRE/HAWAIIAN GUITAR, JEAN-LOUIS MATINIER/ACCORDION,HELEN LABARRIERE/ACOUSTIC BASS,FLO PETRICIEN/VOCALS,LAMB GALION/GUITAR,NOEL AKCHOTE/GUITAR,AURORA BARBATELLI/HARP AND MY BAND AT THE TIME “CONTINENTAL DRIFT” – PAT THOMAS/KEYBOARDS, GEOFF HAWKINS AND TIM HILL ON SAXOPHONES, GARY JONES/ELECTRIC BASS AND SIMON PRICE/DRUMS.
